Moscow February 9, Rossiya Segodnya press service. Al Mayadeen TV pan-Arab media holding will be a partner of the My Planet category of the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest. By agreement with the organizer, Rossiya Segodnya, in addition to announcing the contest in Arabic and Spanish on the holding’s TV channel and the news agency’s newswires, Al Mayadeen TV will present the award for the best entry in the category.
Salem Abdel Munem, head of the Al Mayadeen television network: “The motto of the special prize offered by our Director General Ghassan bin Jiddo is “With you, always and everywhere.” That’s why the main selection criteria for Al Mayadeen is that the winning photo must show that the human being is the supreme value, he is the master of this planet and must treasure it, its diversity and any form of life on Earth.”
The contest is open to photo journalists aged 18 to 34. Entries are accepted at stenincontest.com until March 22, 2017. The 2017 contest will include the following categories in which young photographers can vie for awards: Top News, Sports, My Planet, and Portrait: A Hero of Our Time. The contest is organized by Rossiya Segodnya under the patronage of Russia’s Commission for UNESCO.
Al Mayadeen TV is a pan-Arab media holding, consisting of a television channel in Arabic and Spanish, a documentary film studio and an electronic news agency in Arabic and Spanish. The headquarters of the holding is in the Lebanese capital of Beirut.

The Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest aims to support young photographers and to draw public attention to the challenges of photojournalism in today’s world. It is a platform for young photographers — talented, sensitive and open to all things new — who draw our attention to the people and events around us.
