MOSCOW, July 12, Rossiya Segodnya press office, — A little less than one week remains before the end of voting by the internet audience for the best photo of the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest organized by the Rossiya Segodnya media group under the patronage of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO. Every user is welcome to vote on the contest’s website stenincontest.com by July 18, 11:59 pm MT. All that is required is an account on VKontakte, Facebook, Twitter or China’s Weibo. In the first 10 days of July the leaders are as follows: South Africa’s Justin Sullivan “Walking with Fire. Going Beyond,” Turkey’s Sebnem Toskun “History on the Road Breakfast,” India’s Ajay Kumar “Shot Leopard,” Russia’s Stepan Zmachinsky  “Air borne-landing training sessions of the Emergencies Ministry Leader Center,” and Italy’s Andrea Alai “Ultras.”

A certificate will be presented to the internet fan favorite. On August 6, the jury will announce the names of the winners. In 2018 the jury includes representatives of the leading news agencies AFP (France), Anadolu Ajansi (Turkey), Notimex (Mexico), and also world famous photographers and photo editors. The jury is led by Ahmet Sel, the head of the Anadolu Ajansi photo service (Turkey).

This is the third online vote during the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest. The online audience’s 2016 and 2017 picks showed their unbiased opinion of modern photography. In 2016, Egyptian photographer Gehad Hamdy won the contest after internet users chose his color graphics The Knights image. In 2017, photographer Tabyldy Kadyrbekov from Kyrgyzstan won the contest with his Candy Floss Lady genre sketch.

The prizes will be announced on August 6 at stenincontest.com. The award ceremony will take place in the fall followed by an exhibition of the winning works in Moscow.
