The Rossiya K TV Channel (Russia Culture) is a subsidiary of the national media holding VGTRK (Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company), which is the largest media corporation in Russia. The channel was established in 1997 by the Decree of The President of the Russian Federation, with the support of an outstanding Russian scholar Dmitry Likhachev and a prominent cellist and conductor Mstislav Rostropovich.
Our aim is to promote the highest cultural standards, providing detailed coverage of current cultural events and focusing on the rich heritage of the past. Since 1997 our channel has been an active member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
