OSBU (OIC States Broadcasting Union)
OSBU (OIC States Broadcasting Union), established in 1975; is a diplomatic intergovernmental professional organization made up of the broadcasting bodies of 57 member countries, with the approval of the Sixth Conference of Foreign Ministers of Islamic Countries. It is affiliated to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). It’s composed of the broadcasting bodies in the member countries and depends on its statutes and special laws. (www.OSBU_OIC.org)
The permanent headquarters of the Union is located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Jeddah. It is headed by dr. Amr Ellissy, as an elected president since 2021.
OSBU Media Academy is it’s academic arm, which is a training center of excellence, providing courses and capacity building activities regularly (established in 2022.)

OSBU works through a main mission of peaceful coexistence among peoples worldwide, promoting inter culture exchange and tolerance; within the framework of the objectives of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. OSBU promotes the collective interests of television and radio broadcasters and encourages and supports regional and international co-operation among members, improving and enhancing the exchange of information among member states, especially those that include their radio programs, news and technology.
It works closely with the regional broadcasting unions in other parts of the world on matters of common concern.
