Masterclass by a Stenin Contest winner held in Minsk

The Sputnik Belarus Press Center in Minsk hosted a masterclass on the theme “Photography as News” ahead of the 11th Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest.

The masterclass was conducted by Sergei Bobylev, special photo correspondent for Rossiya Segodnya and a multiple award winner of the Stenin Contest. Sergei received accolades in the following categories: Top News category (2020), Portrait. A Hero of Our Time (2021), and Sports (2023).

The event was attended by heads and specialists of government press services, the Emergencies Ministry, representatives of print media (publishing houses), as well as executives and staff from news agencies, and ONT and STV television channels. The event attracted so much interest that the venue couldn’t accommodate everyone. As a result, the unified editorial boards of media outlets from the Brest, Gomel, Grodno and Mogilev regions joined the session online.

By tradition, the 11th Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest kicks off on December 22, 2024, the birthday of Rossiya Segodnya photojournalist Andrei Stenin, who tragically lost his life in Donbass in 2014.
