The works of the winners and laureats of the International Andrei Stenin Press Photo Contest are presented for the fifth time in Cape Town, South Africa. The exhibition is supported by the traditional partners of the contest, including Independent Media South Africa and African News Agency, as well as the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Cape Town. This year, the Good Hope Gallery, located in one of Cape Town's main attractions - the Castle of Good Hope, is hosting the roadshow.
The exhibition features 40 works by the winners of the contest's tenth anniversary edition from Russia, Bangladesh, India, Spain, Italy, China, Myanmar, South Africa and Syria.
At the opening ceremony, the Consul General of Russia in Cape Town, Alexey Malenko, said:

"There is no doubt that events like the Stenincontest exhibition serve as a reminder that cultural collaboration is just as essential as economic and political one. It is through the exchange of ideas, creativity and perspectives that we build a more connected and harmonious world".

The Executive Chairman and Founder of Independent Media South Africa, Dr Iqbal Survé, highlighted:

“It is an honor to collaborate with Sputnik on the Andrei Stenin Photo Exhibition. This exhibition is a powerful reminder of the courage and dedication of young photojournalists who use their lenses to tell the truth, challenge perspectives, and shape the world’s narrative.”

The works of young photojournalists who received awards in the Stenin contest were first exhibited in Cape Town in 2016, and over the years the project has been supported by the photo director of the ANA news agency Ian Landsberg, who said:

"This Cape Town exhibition of winning images from the Andrei Stenin Photo Contest at the Castle of Good Hope is a must-see collection of great photographs. The 40 selected images on display not only accurately captured the beauty, complexity, and diversity of the human experience in the world - it is also undiluted storytelling because these images were not from commissioned assignments but visual expressions of how young photojournalists from various parts of the globe are seeing the world around them".

The exhibition is open to the public until 16 March 2025.
