Stenin Photo Contest brings prize-winning images to Cape Town

Captivating photographs by past winners and laureates of the Andrey Stenin International Press Photo Contest are now on display at the “Jazz Legacy Collection” exhibition, a dynamic event of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival’s cultural program running from March 27 to 28, 2026.

The vibrant showcase has taken center stage at Youngblood Gallery, a creative hub in the heart of Cape Town. Organised by the Independent Media Group and the African News Agency (ANA), longstanding information partners of the Stenin Contest, the exhibition celebrates the power of visual storytelling amid the festival's rhythmic celebrations.

Dr. Iqbal Survé, Chairman of Independent Media, remarked: “The Andrey Stenin Contest has become a landmark in the world of photojournalism, spotlighting emerging talents and authentic narratives.
