Stenin Contest 2026: Russian entry wins online vote

Online voting for the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest concluded in early August, with internet users casting their votes for their favorite entries.
The top vote-getter was a photo by Russian photographer Ksenia Bogodvid titled Long-Awaited Reunion.
Bogodvid described the image as follows:
“I took this photo in 2025 at the sixth annual Elbeden festival. The 2025 Elbeden reenactment festival marked the 80thanniversary of Victory and the 125th anniversary of Pyotr Gavrilov, defender of the Brest Fortress. This particular shot was taken during the “At the Walls of Königsberg” reenactment. I photographed many scenes that day, trying to capture what you might call “the one.” This image stood out during the selection process. The story moved me because it shows a young girl being reunited with her father after years of separation and war. I believe it’s a very poignant image”
The shortlist and the Grand Prix winner will be announced by the contest’s organizing committee in September on the official websites (stenincontest.ru, stenincontest.com). The traditional international road show for the winners is scheduled to launch before the end of the year.
